The Wales Time Challenge is a unique points based foot race. We work out how many points you have scored via GPS data from the tracker you'll carry with you (supplied by us)

The Time

You can either do the 3 or 6 hour race. Both races finish start and finish in Betws-Y-Coed. Both races also finish at the same time. But be careful, if you're late you'll start losing you points. You'll lose 1 point for every minute you're late back to the finish. If you're half an hour or late back, you'll lose all your points. There is no penalty for finishing early.

The Points

You score points for distance and how much you go up hills or mountains. You score 1 point for every 500 metres you cover and 1 point for every 50 metres you go up. It's up to you what's the best tactic to score the most points.

If you enter as a team you can stay together or split up.

You will be able to see your ranking live during the race via a Smart Phone with internet connection

The Route

Put simply, it's up to you. You start and finish in the same place in the centre of Betws-Y-Coed.

Rules

  • You must carry the tracker at all times
  • You must not give the tracker to anyone else during the race. Random checks will be made
  • You must leave the tracker on for the duration of the race
  • If you run with your dog it must be on a lead at all times
  • If you lose the tracker you will be required to pay a £100 replacement fee
  • If you retire from the race you must return to the start/finish in Betws-Y-Coed.
