Part of the Corwen Walking Festival the event takes you to the top of the Caer Drewyn hill fort. The 5k race starts and finishes in Corwen in the Sports Pavilion on the War Memorial Park.

The route follows the road for the first part and then climbs through the woods and farmland just below the hill fort, before climbing straight upto the actual hill fort. Once you reach the hill fort you can enjoy the views of Corwen and the sarrounding valley before you run back down into the Pavilion.

There is also a CaniX or Canicross race that runs on the same route as the main race

There is an entry limit of 300 (across both races) and we expect it to fill quickly, so get it now! There will also be a short children's race on the day for the budding trail runners.

The Corwen Walking Festival event centre provides a great family day out for both competitors and also spectators, with food and drinks available, children's activities, race commentary all at the start / finish line. Spectators will have a great view of the competitors. There will be many things to do over the weeked during the walking festival including a Pop up Cotswold Outdoor shop thats open all weekend.

Have a look at the ‘The Day’ page for a full schedule of events on the day and have a look at our FAQs page for answers to more questions. What is Canicross?

Canicross is a fantastic sport where you run trails with your dog.

Its recommended you hold appropriate 3rd party insurance, just in case your dog injures someone or another dog.

In a canicross race your dog is attached to you with a bungee line, which goes round your waist. The dog wears a padded dog harness. This set up ensures maximum comfort and safety for both runner and dog.

If necessary an open muzzle can be used.
