The races are run on the beautiful grounds of Brynkinalt. The estate is home to the ancestral Trevor family since 942. Located in the beautiful surroundings of the Welsh/Shropshire border and close to Chirk. There are a variety of terrains you’ll experience on the race. With some fields, forest tracks and some gradients to get your heart pumping. The start/finish and event centre is located in front of the impressive Brynkinalt Hall which is a Grade II* listed building. Brynkinalt is private land that cannot be run at any other time!

Getting there

Brynkinalt is not far off the A5 on the outskirts of Chirk. The grid reference is 52.932311, -3.040738. Although the postcode will get you near to Brynkinalt we advise you use a map as some sat navs can have interesting interpretation of where to take you. There will be Up Hill Down Dale signs to direct you from the local area, but we can't be responsible if you get lost. Please give yourself plenty of time to get there and register before you're due to start your race. Registration and car parking opens at 8am and registration closes at 10am.

(Please note if using Sat Nav we recommend that you simply enter Chirk- this will bring you to the main street in the village and follow directions below. DO NOT USE the post code alone as this will bring you along little country lanes to the back entrance)

Arriving in Chirk from the South

From the Moreton Park Garden Centre roundabout take the second exit signposted Chirk. Travel for approximately 1.5 miles. There is a hill on the approach to Chirk. At the top of the hill, turn right by the church into Trevor Road. Continue past houses on the right hand side, until you reach a left hand bend. On this bend, turn right through the Main Black and Gold Estate Gates. This is the Gate Lodge and the main entrance to Brynkinalt.

Arriving in Chirk from the North

At the Halton roundabout on the A483 take the 3rd exit for Chirk and follow the signs for Chirk at the next roundabout. Drive straight through the town, you will pass the Hand Hotel on your left and the war memorial on your right. You will then see Chirk Church on your left hand side, just before the road drops down a hill. Turn left here into Trevor Road, past houses on the right hand side until you reach a left hand bend. On this bend, turn right through the Main Black and Gold Estate Gates. This is the Gate Lodge and the main entrance to Brynkinalt.
